I made a bingo for my kids to help them learn their numbers. I cut mine up so I could randomly pick which number would be next. I have them play during snack time with cheerios or chex or something. We usually play black out so they have to go through each number each time. Then when they have a cheerio on each number they eat them all and we start all over again. It has really helped them to recognize their numbers.
What do you do to teach numbers?

ashlee...ashlee...you are too good of a mom! I need this to give me ideas:) and I totally remember your kids doing quiet reading time- I need to start that! can't wait to follow along with all the great ideas:)
oh ash, all of these are such great ideas. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to contribute-you're just so on top of things-but I'll be sure to check back often.
So you must be Power Momma! After taking care of two kids, I can barely read, let alone teach my kids how to read! I'm excited to put some of these to the test. Thanks for the advice and if I have anything great to share I'll let you know!
Great Blog idea Ash!
I made a felt board... with felt numbers. I ask him to put up each number. He loves to do it just because he likes to play with the board and he likes that they stick up there. Madax is not getting the numbers yet... but eventually he will.
You can do the same thing with colors and letters.
I am so glad that you decided to do this blog. You have some really good ideas and it really helps to see how to do things. I am always trying to figure out new things to do with Cameron, so thanks for taking the time to share your ideas.
Cute ideas. As for learning numbers... we have done a number of different things. From counting out candy to going on nature walks and getting 5 leaves 4 rocks etc... When I saw your fruit it reminded me that I have also drawn pictures of what I need at the store like eggs, bread, different veggies and fruit. I give that to them and they help me shop! They feel like they are being big helpers when they see something on the list. We have also taken letters each day and focused on them. Thinking of all the things you could do with the letters for example: A- make and paint paper airplanes. B- Play Basketball or brush each others hair....the sky's the limit. Sorry to keep going on. Oh but your snowball one reminded me that it's also fun to get squirt guns and put colored water in them and go draw in the snow.
I like this idea, I'll try it tomorrow during snack time, thanks Ash!
I taught my class their numbers by using some fluffy dice. They roll the dice and then count the number of dots. Then they write the number on a mini chalk board. They learn to count and write their numbers at the same time.
